It's a vast amount of adaptive technologies that can be used to support learners. Specifically, writing can be very difficult for kids with special needs so they have created specific technologies that would assist them better. For example, word processing, concept mapping, word prediction and text to speech programs are some of the many technologies that helps special needs students. These can only be effective if its paired with great teaching capabilities. PowerPoint can be used to support student learning at each level in the classroom because its very easy to understand if its done correctly, and You can easily draw connections among different ideas to help your presentation flow smoothly. For instance, If I were teaching a lesson on sight words and I used power point to present it to the classroom then I would create a PowerPoint that's edgy, fun, and age appropriate. Secondly, I would evaluate my findings to be sure that I am giving the most accurate presentation. Thir...

My experience with twitter has been very interesting so far. Although I am use to using a lot of emojis on my own personal account, I tried not to make it as casual but more educational. There are a lot of benefits to twitter specifically for teachers because it's a platform for them to educate, inform and learn. So far, I have not experienced any issues with twitter or posting but I have learned a lot just by scrolling through other educational profiles. I have acquired a lot from working on the web page design assignment because it has taught me more skills that I didn't already know about creating a web design. I liked the creative and brainstorming part about doing the web page. I can definitely improve on formatting my web pages, and learning more about creative ideas I can put in my web designs. Website The new skills that I have acquired from Diigo, are for annotating paragraphs and using the different features. It can be useful in the classroom becaus...

"ILP1" Design- Prezi

I chose to do a prezi for my ILP #1 on Kindergarten tools and resources for parents and students. I really enjoyed this activity because I got a chance to show off my creativity and passion I have for teaching young children. In my prezi, I will be giving educational  tools and resources for parents to have a successful kindergartner. I hope you enjoy! Because my high school didn't have school pages, I took the liberty of searching for a school that had class pages for the specific grade that I would love to teach which is Kindergarten. The website that I found was Glenkirk elementary school https://glenkirkes.pwcs.edu/class_pages/k/ . What's very interesting is most of the elementary websites that I visited are set up the same way. On this specific website though, all the information is public. On the contrary, they only have information about their summer reading program and things that that have learned from the month of September. I assume that they are using this page as a reference for parents to see what their child has learned for the month and upcoming information that they will need to know.  I envision myself using technology in my classroom quite often. Specifically, PowerPoint because its easier for me to present as well as do hands on activities with my students. Because I have chosen to teach kindergarten...

The web 2.0 tools that have been useful to me the most are twitter and youtube . In high school a lot of my teachers used youtube but I never really used twitter for classes until I got to college. In the podcast she spoke about blogs, wiki, twitter, and diigo. She said you can get students to actively and directly  engage in the classroom using web 2.0. I also thinks its very useful, especially for parents when you have kids in elementary. Its a very effective way to stay in communication with parents.  An interesting web 2.0 tool that i found was  http://edu.glogster.com/ . It has various uses such as making notes in your lecture, presenting projects, sharing virtual trips, etc.  I think this site would be a new way to capture educational learning in a different light. As a student I use to hate making posters all the time and now technology has come up with ways you can make digital posters.  I am honestly amazed by augmented real...

When I created my twitter for this class, I didn't know who I should follow. So, I started following everyone that was educational and/or people from the class. I found it to be very beneficial because I got to see others opinions on technology and education as well. Honestly, I'm not sure if twitter would be helpful to me in my future career because of the grade that I prefer to teach which is kindergarten. I feel like twitter would be helpful for high-school  teachers or college professors. The digital divide affects students success in schools because most of the students especially African Americans and Hispanics do not have access to a lot of technology at home so its very difficult for them to keep up with instruction. The causes of digital divide separates the students, causes them to fall behind, and usually the parents cant afford what teachers need as far as devices, and internet. I may experience some students that are not fortunate...
